ABOUT ME

Hi, I'm Gretchen

MY Bio:

Gretchen Fritz currently serves as a Will County Board Member and Forest Preserve District of
Will County Commissioner for County Board District 5. She was elected to the board in 2014
and 2018. Her day job is as a branch office administrator for Edward Jones Investments. She is
also a freelance writer and editor. She is a regular contributor to The Illinois Shooter, the official
publication of the Illinois State Rifle Association.


Gretchen has been a Republican precinct committeeman in Plainfield since 2009. She was
elected as a Plainfield Public Library trustee in 2013. She is a past chair of the Will County
Young Republicans and subsequently was the treasurer for many years. She also was the
secretary of the Federation of Illinois Young Republicans for one term. She moved up from Vice
Chair to Co-Chair of the Illinois State Rifle Association Will County Grassroots Chapter.
Gretchen was elected to the Illinois State Rifle Association Board of Directors in 2020.
Gretchen attends church in Bolingbrook at Fellowship Chapel of the Christian and Missionary
Alliance. She serves as the assistant treasurer and as a deacon there.


Gretchen earned a Master of Library and Information Science degree from University of
Wisconsin Milwaukee and a Bachelor of Science degree in music business at Millikin
University. She completed the Leadership Academy seminar offered by the United Counties
Council of Illinois in 2020.

  • Clean the list of election judges

  • Work with other county clerks to lobby the Illinois General Assembly for better election laws

  •  Improve accuracy in the production of death certificates
